Frankenstein's Last Triumph by ~JohntheSilver:iconJohntheSilver:

Frankenstein’s Last Triumph
By John Luna

With the lightning claps and the thunder roars,
A fiendish glee fills a man’s eyes with light,
As its screams echo out to the dark moors.

He shows no fear when the creature groans, nor
When the storm outside grows and the sky’s bright
With the lightning claps and the thunder roars.

His unbridled joy rises high and soars,
Watching his patchwork beast cry out its blight,
As its screams echo out to the dark moors.

The massive beast lumbers, creaking the floors,
While its father laughs into the night
With the lightning claps and the thunder roars.

Rage, deep into the monster’s heart, it bores,
So it strangles its creator with might,
As its screams echo out to the dark moors.

Free from madness, it steps out as rain pours
And wanders in despair, lost and in fright,
With the lightning claps and the thunder roars,
As its screams echo out to the dark moors.

Here is a poem I did about a year or so ago. This was my first attempt at a villanelle and I kind like how it came out. Was difficult to get down the format though, I must admit. ;) Anyways, I decided to finally post it in honor of Halloween! Woooo!

I like. The structure seemed a little odd till I got to your note at the bottom but wow - there's some great imagery in there. I love poetry, and horror, and merging the two was nicely rhythmic, rather dark, and sent a little shiver when I read it out loud. Nice work ^^ & thanks for sending a friend my way btw.

Hey thanks for the nice comments! Yeah, the structure is definitely new me as well. I'd never heard of a villanelle before that class. Anyways I'm glad you liked it. It was funny cause we just picked any topic we wanted for the poem and I was struck with inspiration to make it about Frankenstein.

And you're very well for your new friend. They just made me think of you two because P-K-A works as a duo as well. =D
